What is the Champions: Assemble Campaign? Champions: Assemble is a HERO 5th edition campaign set in the year 2002 on an alternate Earth where superpowered humans are common place. The campaign will chronicle the episodic exploits of a newly formed team of heroes in their efforts to protect the ambiguously located eastern city of Metropolis.

Since the 1940's the City of Metropolis has had the protection of Freedom Force, lead by the armored champion Centurion. Superheroes such as Captain Amazing, Blue Tiger, Gray Falcon and Tom Turbo fought to keep Metropolis safe from the villainy of Doctor Death and other degenerates. Overtime heroes have retired from the group to be replaced by new ones, but all the time Centurion continued to train and lead. That all changed when he was presumed killed in the "Battle of Detroit." The team fell apart after a short time.

Several solo heroes have done their part to safeguard Metropolis for the last decade but their efforts could not steam the tide of injustice. Crime has become rampant and new villains have risen to menace Metropolis such as the Crime Baron, Sina-Star and Silky the Wonder Pimp. Could the sudden reappearance of the Gray Falcon mean that a new era of justice is about to begin?
